It was first stemed in 1979. 1910 James Simpson Cross-Compound Reciprocating Engine this engine comes from the Waddon Pumping Station at Croydon in Surrey and was the last station to still use steam power with the engine being shut down in 1983. It was donatedto the museum by Thames Water and was brought there the next year and returned to steam in 1990. It is having trouble starting as the drivers have to do so slowly due to the lack of resistance from having no pumps attached. All the engines have been filmed from different angles.
