After a business meeting in Sarasota, I ventured out to do a little sight seeing. I expected only to see the condition of the Seminole Gulf's tracks in the Sarasota area as well as find the interchange point with CSX. Well, I found it. With the help of my friend, Ken Ramp (kenjr29mfl), I went to the 51st. Ave. crossing. Upon arriving, I heard a familiar horn blowing for the 15th. St. crossing. It was engine 2383 on O708-03 arriving at the interchange to pick up a cut of cars. I immediately left to get as close as I could to where the action was. Again, with Ken's help, I found Riess Rd., a narrow driveway leading to the Superior Asphalt plant at the interchange track. This is as close as one can get to the interchange point and requires entering private property. When I got there, they were already hooked up and pumping air to the train. I arrived just in time to catch the engineer pull the train out of the siding and to watch the conductor throw the switch back to the normal position. From there, I went north on 15th. St. to the crossing there at SW 874.6 and caught them crossing the road on their way to Gullett Siding, adjacent to the Tropicana plant. One more catch... This time I arrived just after they crossed 9th. St. East at AZA 917.6. O708-03 had just crossed over from the main to the siding and shoved back across 9th.
